Tesch Riesling Karthäuser 2022

Karthäuser riesling, dat is complexe, expressieve en kruidige riesling. De bodem in deze cru bestaat vooral uit rode zandsteen. Deze op het zuidwesten gelegen wijngaard, gelegen boven Laubenheim, heeft de vorm van een amfitheater. De verweerde zandsteengrond verzamelt en bewaart de warmte efficiënt, waardoor de druiven die hier worden geplant als eerste rijpen. De Rieslings geproduceerd uit KARTHÄUSER-druiven zijn bijna net zo imposant als de wijngaard zelf: rijp, rustig, krachtig en kruidig, met een strakke structuur en bewonderenswaardige zuurbeheersing. De naam komt van de middeleeuwse eigenaren, een klooster van kartuizermonniken dat bekend staat om hun geloften van stilte.

“From a warm, early-ripening plot on Rotliegend (red sandstone), the intensely yellow-colored 2022 Karthäuser Laubenheimer Riesling trocken opens with an aromatic and quite generous bouquet of ripe (red) fruits and a reductive flintiness that tends toward untamed notes. The acidity is remarkably fine but vivacious and well integrated into the supple texture and full body. It gives a saline and uplifting finish with complex talents.
