The wine comes from the Alsenz Elkersberg location. This traditional vineyard location was redeveloped in 1989 after decades. Now there are 3.5 hectares of vines again. The quality of the grapes and the wine made from them justified this enormous effort. Very steep slope; orientation south-southwest; arid clay & slate form weathered soil from freshwater ocean deposits from 260 million years ago; by inclusions of crustaceans are also calcareous. Situated in a hollow on a hill; protected from cold easterly winds. The epitome for a perfect, mineral Riesling. One of the best locations in Alsenztal.
