Kracher Zweigelt 2019
Gerhard Kracher is now the 3rd generation winemaker in this iconic wine estate. Father Alois was the man who put the wine region Seewinkel in Burgenland on the international wine map. He saw the potential in the region for making noble sweet wines. Although the dry wines from this estate are also world class. Alois' work is so appreciated by colleagues & the press that he was named Austrian winemaker of the year no less than 7 times. In short, the shoes that Gerhard had to fill in 2007 were quite big. Fortunately, Gerhard succeeds brilliantly in making the same quality wines as his father.
This Zweigelt has everything you expect from a well-made Zweigelt. Dark with violet tones in terms of color. Dark berries and a light floral touch in the nose. Very juicy, fruit-driven wine with impressions of berries (jam), plums (compotte), ripe cherries supplemented with a light spiciness.
