Kracher TBA N4 Grande Cuvee 2020
Gerhard Kracher is world-renowned for the quality of his sweet wines. Gerhard knows like no other how to maintain the balance between sweetness and acidity; he even succeeds in letting the characteristics of each grape speak in his noble rot wines. The Grande Cuvee is without a doubt the best wine produced on the estate. This wine stands up to comparison with Chateau D’Yquem with flying colours.

The Trockenbeerenauslese No. 4 Grande Cuvée Nouvelle Vague 2020 is based on 60% Welschriesling (vinified in large oak barrels) and 40% Chardonnay (matured in barriques) and opens with an intense and concentrated bouquet with spicy quince aromas, lemon chutney, lime, ripe and lush apricots and pineapple, hints of nougat, caramel and sea salt. Very deep and complex but also refined, fresh and very elegant! Round, intense and very refined on the palate, this is a saline and elegant, seemingly weightless Grande Cuvée that develops a spectacularly long and intense finish with salinity and concentrated fruits such as melons, apricots, lemons, quinces and grapefruit. The finish is intense and very long, but of great finesse and elegance. This is indeed a beautiful wine, which is already stunning the day after opening and will need about ten years or more to gain even more complexity. 10% declared alcohol. Natural cork. 98/100 Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
